Riding your cruiser alone is perfectly enjoyable, but that’s not always the experience you want. If you’re friends with several other cruiser motorcycle owners, then why not band together and go on a group ride? With a little bit of prep work, you can make a group motorcycle ride a fun and memorable experience for all involved.

Chart Your Course

Before your trip, gather together and determine the route you want to take. Make sure that you choose a route that is free from construction or closures and that it’s acceptable for both beginner and experienced riders. You can make note of any tourist destinations, roadside cafes, or other places you might want to stop on the route.

Maintain Your Cruisers

Everyone going on the trip needs to tune up their cruisers so that they won’t break down on the road. Check tire pressure and condition, change the oil if needed, fill up everyone’s tanks with fresh gasoline, and test lights, signals, and brakes before departure.

If you or someone else in your riding group would like some professional assistance with cruiser maintenance, get in touch with the Crossroad Powersports service department to make an appointment before your upcoming ride. We can ensure that your group’s fleet of bikes is ready to go.

Establish a Riding Formation

A riding formation can help your group stay organized while ensuring that no one’s left behind. Place more experienced riders at the front and back of your group and have the rear rider carry a tool kit and first-aid kit to help anyone who needs to stop. Staggered-V formations like flying geese and zipper formations, where riders follow each other two seconds behind and to either side, are excellent for groups.
